Technical education holds significant importance in Nepalese health sector, as it equips individuals with the practical skills and knowledge necessary to address pressing healthcare challenges. From a director’s perspective, such education enhances the quality of healthcare services by producing skilled professionals like nurses, radiography, pharmacy lab technicians, health assistants and B. tech (food) technology which are vital in rural and urban areas. It bridges the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world application, ensuring better diagnosis, treatment and patient care. Moreover, technical education promotes self-reliance by creating job opportunities and reducing dependence on foreign expertise. By fostering innovation and improving services delivery, it directly contribution to achieving national health goals and uplifting the overall well-being of the population, especially in marginalized communities.
Regional Collage of Health Science and Technology (RE-COST) located in the center of Pokhara. The collage has been established with an objective to pursue excellence in technical health science as one of the apex education institution in the country. In recent years college has undergone a period of rapid infrastructure and installed molecular biology laboratory well equipment with PCR, electrophoresis se etc that equally assists both academic and research fields. The college has its own well equipped 50 bedded hospital which provides healthcare facilities to the general people as well as provides additional facilities to the students to conduce their hospital based field practice, research work.
